Hot stone massage questions
Do the stones get too hot?
They shouldn't. Stone temperature is checked before it touches your skin, and you can ask for cooler stones at any point.
What is the difference between hot stone and a normal massage?
Hot stone adds heated stones, used both resting on the body and held in your therapist's hands, so the warmth does part of the work. Pressure is usually medium.
How long should a hot stone massage be?
60 minutes covers a full body treatment. 90 minutes gives time for the heat to work slowly through everything.
Can I have hot stone massage while pregnant?
Book a pregnancy massage instead. It is the treatment adapted for mums to be.
Is hot stone massage good for a first massage?
Yes. The pressure is usually medium and the warmth helps most people relax quickly.
What should I wear?
Whatever is comfortable. You undress to the level you are happy with and stay covered with towels throughout.
Is hot stone massage suitable if I have a health condition?
Tell your therapist about any medical condition or medicines before your session, as the NHS advises for any therapy. If in doubt, check with your GP first.
